Multi-platinum songwriter\/producer Jason Boyd, aka Poo Bear, was born on September 4, 1979 in Connecticut.<\/p>\n
He has sold over 500 million records worldwide and\u00a0has worked with artists including Justin Bieber, Usher, Chris Brown, Whitney Houston, P!nk, Dr. Dre, Drake, Lil Wayne, Fat Joe, Tyga, Trey Songz, David Guetta, Skrillex, Ty Dolla $ign, Jennifer Lopez, DJ Khaled, Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish, Dan + Shay, Jah Cure, Mavado, Swedish House Mafia, Paul Oakenfold, Kelly Rowland, Snoop Dogg, Bun B, Yo Gotti, Eve, Kelis, Ruben Studdard, and Mariah Carey.<\/p>\n
He co-wrote nine out of 13 songs on Justin Bieber\u2019s album Purpose<\/em>, which has sold over 14 million copies worldwide.<\/span><\/p>\n Amongst those songs are Beiber’s hit single What Do You Mean?, <\/em>which\u00a0 has sold over 14 million copies worldwide and reached No.1 in more than 25 countries.<\/span><\/p>\n The album also included Where Are You Now?<\/em>, which has sold over 9 million copies.<\/span><\/p>\n The English language version of Despacito<\/em>, known as Despacito (Justin Bieber Remix)<\/em> by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee was No.1 in over 50 countries.\u00a0 <\/span>It was also the 2018 Grammy Awards Song Of The Year and Record Of The Year.<\/span><\/p>\n Commenting on his working relationship with Bieber during an interview on the MBW podcast in July 2020, Poo Bear said:<\/a> “I\u2019m blessed enough to have co-written Justin Bieber\u2019s last three albums; it\u2019s amazing. But I never get comfortable.<\/p>\n “I never feel like, \u2018I did it!\u2019 That keeps me striving for greatness.”<\/p>\n In an interview with MBW in October 2017, Poo Bear said<\/a> that he writes “600 songs a year”.<\/p>\n “It\u2019s like me in the gym, shooting free throws over and over again,” he added.<\/p>\n In November 2018, Hipgnosis Songs Fund Limited (HSFL) acquired the music catalog<\/a> of Poo Bear for an undisclosed amount, buying a 100% interest in Poo Bear\u2019s catalog, comprising 214 songs in total.<\/p>\n In February 2020 Poo Bear signed a worldwide publishing deal<\/a> with peermusic.<\/p>\n
