It includes <strong>12<\/strong> tracks and <strong>six<\/strong> previously released voice memos, as well as one new voice memo.<\/p>\n      <div class=\"mb-advert__incontent\">      <div class=\"mb-advert mb-advert__spu\" data-loaded=\"no\" data-name=\"300x250 Sponsor MPU #3\" data-params=\"dfp_spu3\" id=\"dfp_spu3\"><\/div>      <\/div>      \n<p>The album is also a global smash. <i>The Life of a Showgirl <\/i>amassed more than <strong>1.5 billion<\/strong> global streams and sold <strong>5.5 million<\/strong> album-equivalent units during its debut week, Republic confirmed on Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In <strong>Germany<\/strong>, it registered the highest-grossing week for an international solo artist since the current German chart system launched 25 years ago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Canada<\/strong> saw its strongest album debut of the streaming era.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Italy<\/strong> reported the album as the biggest opening by any international act in its chart history.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in the <strong>UK<\/strong>, the album reached\u00a0<strong>423,000\u00a0<\/strong>combined chart units in its opening week, marking the strongest debut of Swift\u2019s career in that market.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s according to data from the<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.officialcharts.com\/chart-news\/taylor-swift-number-1-album-and-single\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Official Charts<\/a><\/em> on Friday (October 10), which reported that the album&#8217;s first-week performance marks the biggest opening for any release in the UK since <strong>Ed Sheeran&#8217;<\/strong>s <em>Divide<\/em> in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>It also marks the strongest debut for an international album in the UK this century and the first Swift record to become<strong> BRIT-Certified Platinum<\/strong> within its first week of sale.<\/p>\n<p>With this achievement, Swift surpassed <strong>Elvis Presley&#8217;s<\/strong> <strong>13<\/strong> UK No. 1 albums and matches <strong>The Rolling Stones<\/strong> with <strong>14<\/strong> chart-toppers. Only<strong> The Beatles<\/strong> and <strong>Robbie<\/strong> <strong>Williams<\/strong>, both with <strong>15<\/strong> No.1 albums, have achieved more in UK chart history.<\/p>\n<p>She reached this milestone in just under 13 years after landing her first UK chart-topper with <em>Red<\/em> in October 2012. This translates to an average of more than one chart-topping album per year since then. <em>The Life of a Showgirl<\/em> is her third album to reach No.1 in 2025, following <em>Lover (Live From Paris)<\/em> in February and<em> The Tortured Poets Department<\/em> in April.<\/p>\n<p>The album also set multiple UK chart records across different formats. Vinyl sales reached <strong>126,000\u00a0<\/strong>copies, making it the fastest-selling vinyl album this century and the highest single-week vinyl total since modern chart records began in 1994.<\/p>\n<p>Streaming contributed\u00a0<strong>84,000\u00a0<\/strong>equivalent sales units, surpassing both Sheeran&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Divide\u00a0<\/em>and Swift&#8217;s previous album,\u00a0<em>Tortured Poets Department<\/em>,\u00a0which each generated\u00a0<strong>79,000\u00a0<\/strong>stream-equivalent units. The album also recorded the year&#8217;s highest first-week download figures.<\/p>\n<p>The album&#8217;s release triggered renewed interest in Swift&#8217;s catalog, with her 2020 release <em>folklore<\/em> returning to the Top 40 at No. 37.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>MBW recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/taylor-swifts-the-fate-of-ophelia-becomes-most-streamed-song-in-a-single-day-on-spotify-as-new-album-shatters-records-across-platforms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> that\u00a0<em>Showgirl\u00a0<\/em>set new records across the major streaming platforms. <strong>Amazon<\/strong> <strong>Music<\/strong> reported that the album accumulated more streams in its opening day than any other release in 2025, while Spotify said the record has become its most-streamed album in a single day in 2025 so far, reaching that feat in under 11 hours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Prior to release, the album broke Spotify\u2019s\u00a0<a class=\"link-internal\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/taylor-swifts-the-life-of-a-showgirl-is-already-a-record-breaker-as-album-becomes-first-to-exceed-5m-pre-saves-on-spotify\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pre-save record<\/a>\u00a0with more than 6 million users adding it to their libraries.
