Stat Of the Week is supported by\u00a0music data analytics firm\u00a0<a class=\"link-external\" href=\"https:\/\/chartmetric.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Chartmetric<\/a>.\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>JYP Entertainment<\/strong>, the K-pop agency behind such acts as Stray Kids, TWICE, and DAY6, reported blockbuster quarterly earnings on Wednesday (August 13) in the wake of several major world tours by its acts.<\/p>\n<p>The Seoul-headquartered company reported a <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>125.5% YoY<\/strong><\/span> increase in revenue \u2013 yes, more than double \u2013 to <strong>215.8 billion<\/strong> Korean won in the three months to end of June. That&#8217;s<strong> USD $154 million<\/strong> at the average exchange rate for Q2.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the company&#8217;s reported operating profit of <strong>KRW 52.9 billion<\/strong> (<strong>$37.7 million<\/strong>) was up by a whopping <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>466.3% YoY<\/strong><\/span>. Q2 net profit stood at <strong>KRW 36.3 billion<\/strong> (<strong>$25.9 million<\/strong>), up <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>2,734.4% YoY<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>A major part of that growth came in the concert segment, which saw revenue growth of <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>342% YoY<\/strong><\/span> to <strong>KRW 62.0 billion<\/strong> (<strong>$44.2 million<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>As major contributors to that number, JYP singled out\u00a0<strong>Stray Kids<\/strong>\u2019 recently completed world tour, which saw the boy group perform 54 shows in 23 cities across Asia, Oceania, Latin America, North America, and Europe.\u00a0The tour, which started in August 2024, ended a few weeks ago \u2013 nearly a year later \u2013 with a performance at Rome\u2019s Stadio Olimpico.<\/p>\n<p>According to Live Nation, <strong>Stray Kids&#8217;<\/strong>\u00a0&lt;dominATE&gt; World Tour\u00a0is now the\u00a0highest-grossing and best-selling tour ever by a K-pop act in North America, Latin America, and Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Also contributing to JYP&#8217;s concert revenues in Q2 was <strong>DAY6<\/strong>\u2019s world tour (45 shows in 23 cities) and performances by girl group <strong>TWICE<\/strong>, including its headline performance at Lollapalooza Chicago 2025.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">      <div class=\"mb-advert__incontent\">      <div class=\"mb-advert mb-advert__tweeny hidden-xs hidden-ms hidden-sm\" data-loaded=\"no\" data-sizes=\"992 1200 1440\" data-name=\"628x90 Sponsor banner #3 (992+1200+1440)\" data-params=\"dfp_sponsor3_628\" id=\"dfp_sponsor3_628\"><\/div>      <div class=\"mb-advert mb-advert__banner mb-advert__banner--inline hidden-xs hidden-sm hidden-md hidden-lg\" data-loaded=\"no\" data-sizes=\"480\" data-name=\"468x60 Sponsor banner #3 (480)\" data-params=\"dfp_sponsor3_468\" id=\"dfp_sponsor3_468\"><\/div>      <div class=\"mb-advert mb-advert__mobile mb-advert__mobile--inline hidden-ms hidden-md hidden-lg\" data-loaded=\"no\" data-sizes=\"320 768\" data-name=\"300x50 Sponsor banner #3 (320+768)\" data-params=\"dfp_sponsor3_300\" id=\"dfp_sponsor3_300\"><\/div>      <\/div>      <\/p>\n<p><strong>JYP<\/strong> also mentioned the success of the Netflix movie <em>Kpop Demon Hunters<\/em> in its earnings report.<\/p>\n<p>Three members of TWICE \u2013 <strong>Jeongyeon<\/strong>, <strong>Jihyo<\/strong>, and <strong>Chaeyoung<\/strong> \u2013 contributed to the soundtrack with the song <em>Takedown<\/em>, which has become the highest-charting song on the <strong>Billboard 100<\/strong> to have come from a Netflix movie.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the TWICE track <em>Strategy<\/em> featuring <strong>Megan Thee Stallion<\/strong> appeared briefly in the movie, and has now entered the Billboard 100.<\/p>\n<p>The tours by JYP artists also boosted the company\u2019s merch sales, which jumped <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>355.9% YoY<\/strong><\/span> to <strong>KRW 66.9 billion<\/strong> (<strong>$47.7 million<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>That was helped along by collaborations between Stray Kids and merch company <strong>Tamagotchi<\/strong>, as well as a collab between TWICE and merch company <strong>Sanrio<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_238168\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><figure class=\"mbw-articlepic mbw-articlepic--center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/files\/2025\/08\/JYP-earnings.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><a class=\"link-internal\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/files\/2025\/08\/JYP-earnings.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/files\/2025\/08\/JYP-earnings.png\" data-lightbox=\"image-set\" data-title=\"\"><img  class=\"lazyload\" src=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/files\/2025\/08\/JYP-earnings-80x84.png\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/files\/2025\/08\/JYP-earnings-80x84.png 80w, https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/files\/2025\/08\/JYP-earnings-160x168.png 160w, https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/files\/2025\/08\/JYP-earnings-320x337.png 320w, https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/files\/2025\/08\/JYP-earnings-418x440.png 418w\" data-sizes=\"auto\"><i class=\"fas fa-search-plus magnifying-glass-icon\"><\/i><\/a><\/a><\/figure><figcaption class=\"caption wp-caption-text\">Source: JYP<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Ad revenue increased <strong>22.4% YoY<\/strong> to <strong>KRW 11.3 billion<\/strong> (<strong>$8.1 million<\/strong>), which JYP attributed to \u201cenhanced collaborations with global brands and increased artist awareness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One area of weakness in the earnings report was streaming revenue, which fell <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>10.2% YoY<\/strong><\/span> to <strong>KRW 11.5 billion<\/strong> ($8.2 million). JYP attributed this to a distortion in the year-on-year comparison with Q2 2024, which included a one-time recognition of streaming revenue from China. Nonetheless, streaming revenue is still down around <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>7.8%<\/strong><\/span> from the same quarter two years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Offsetting the lower streaming revenue is a <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>100% YoY<\/strong><\/span> jump in physical album sales, to <strong>KRW 27.1 billion<\/strong> (<strong>$19.3 million<\/strong>). JYP said that was thanks to a solid roster of new releases, including a Stray Kids mini-album in Japan.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">      <div class=\"mb-advert__incontent\">      <div class=\"mb-advert mb-advert__spu\" data-loaded=\"no\" data-name=\"300x250 Sponsor MPU #3\" data-params=\"dfp_spu3\" id=\"dfp_spu3\"><\/div>      <\/div>      <\/p>\n<p>Japan, where physical album sales remain stronger than in most other developed music markets, has been steadily growing as a source of revenue for JYP. It accounted for <strong>KRW 45.2 billion<\/strong> (<strong>$32.2 million<\/strong>) of the company\u2019s revenue in the latest quarter, or <strong>21%<\/strong> of the total, up from <strong>10%<\/strong> five years earlier.<\/p>\n<p>The world outside Korea, Japan and China has also been growing as a share of revenue, amid JYP&#8217;s efforts to internationalize its business.
