BTS\u2019s oldest member, Jin<\/strong>, was discharged in June 2024, while J-Hope<\/strong> finished his service in October 2024. Meanwhile, Jimin<\/strong> and Jung Kook<\/strong> are reportedly set to complete their service on Wednesday (June 11).<\/p>\n HYBE\u2019s stock has rallied in recent days since news of BTS\u2019s imminent comeback emerged. The company\u2019s shares jumped 2%<\/strong><\/span> in Seoul on Tuesday to KRW 309,000<\/strong> ($226), marking a five-day growth streak. It also marked the highest level since April 2022. Year-to-date, the stock is up 57%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The building decorations, unveiled Monday and running through June 29, coincide with BTS\u2019s 12th anniversary celebration on Friday (June 13), according to Korea JoongAng Daily.<\/i><\/a><\/p>\n After this week, Suga<\/b> remains the only member still serving, the report said. He is scheduled for discharge on June 21. Meanwhile, Jin<\/b> and J-Hope<\/b>, who returned to civilian life in 2024, have since released solo projects while maintaining limited public appearances.<\/p>\n Jin recently released his second solo album, titled Echo<\/i>, <\/i>on May 16. He partnered<\/a> with TikTok<\/b> last month for a campaign introducing multiple in-app experiences on the platform. In November last year, Jin also partnered<\/a> with the ByteDance<\/b>-owned platform on a multimedia campaign in support of his first solo album, Happy<\/i>.<\/p>\n Jimin also dropped two albums while BTS was in hiatus. He released Face <\/i>in March 2023 and Muse <\/i>in July 2024. Jimin also teamed up<\/a> with TikTok on an in-app hub to promote Muse <\/i>last year.<\/p>\n The seven-member K-pop group, HYBE\u2019s biggest earner, went on hiatus<\/a> in 2022 due to compulsory military service in their home country of South Korea.<\/p>\n At the time, the band said they would be taking a break to pursue solo projects, but added that they will also remain \u201cactive as a group.\u201d<\/p>\n That announcement rattled investors, and the company\u2019s\u00a0shares fell by around 25%<\/a>\u00a0that day, wiping around\u00a0$1.5 billion<\/b>\u00a0from HYBE\u2019s market cap value in the process.<\/p>\n In addition to being HYBE\u2019s top revenue generator, the IFPI<\/b> said BTS were also the\u00a0world\u2019s<\/i>\u00a0biggest recorded music artists in\u00a02021<\/a>\u00a0and 2020.<\/p>\n With the group\u2019s absence, HYBE\u2019s operating profit dropped<\/a> 37.5% YoY<\/b> <\/span>to KRW 184.82 billion <\/b>($135.55 million) in FY 2024, which the company attributed to, among other factors, \u201cBTS\u2018 temporary break.\u201d<\/p>\n Speaking with analysts on the company\u2019s earnings call in February, HYBE\u2019s Chief Financial Officer Kyung-Jun Lee<\/b> said, HYBE\u2019s \u201crevenue mix by artists has changed with the absence of BTS and [the] debut of new groups.\u201d<\/p>\n At the time, the executive hinted that BTS\u2019s comeback is in sight.<\/p>\n News of BTS\u2019s return overshadowed the recent scandal at HYBE\u2019s offices in Seoul, which were raided<\/a> by South Korean authorities over a week ago as part of an investigation into alleged insider trading by a former executive.<\/p>\n
