BMG EVP Global Corporate Communications Steve Redmond is to step down from the company after 12 years.<\/p>\n

The highly-regarded communications exec and media advisor is credited with shaping the company\u2019s image and helped define its positioning over a period during which its revenues have more than quadrupled to become one of the largest international music companies outside the three majors.<\/p>\n

BMG says that a successor will be announced shortly.<\/p>\n

During his tenure, Redmond led communications around more than 100 acquisitions and championed the company\u2019s fairness initiatives towards artists and songwriters alongside former CEO Hartwig Masuch.<\/p>\n

Most recently, he has led internal and external communications around the handover to new CEO Thomas Coesfeld and the company\u2019s new strategy.<\/p>\n

Then based in his native London, Redmond started consulting for BMG in 2012<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

He moved to BMG\u2019s headquarters to become SVP Global Corporate Communications in January 2016 and was promoted to EVP Global Corporate Communications in 2021.<\/p>\n

With three decades of experience in corporate communications and media in the music industry, in the Nineties Redmond ran the Music Week group of magazines first as Editor and then publisher.<\/p>\n

In the early 2000s Redmond spent four years at UK record companies trade association the BPI as Director of Communications & Development before switching to a successful career as an independent media consultant.<\/p>\n
