Royalty Services US and Aidan Kenny, SVP Royalty Services &amp; Income Tracking UK, says BMG.<\/p>\n      <div class=\"mb-advert__incontent\">      <div class=\"mb-advert mb-advert__spu\" data-loaded=\"no\" data-name=\"300x250 Sponsor MPU #1\" data-params=\"dfp_spu1\" id=\"dfp_spu1\"><\/div>      <\/div>      \n<p>BMG says that the move forms part of a &#8220;program to modernize industry practices&#8221;, which has seen BMG abandon packaging deductions on digital formats (benefiting recording artists) and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/bmg-exterminates-poisonous-controlled-composition-clauses-from-its-us-record-contracts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> removing the controlled composition clauses<\/a> from its contracts (which benefits songwriters).<\/p>\n<p>Prospectively, BMG&#8217;s pledge to pay songwriters faster won&#8217;t just benefit songwriters, either \u2013 but also those song rightsholders who&#8217;ve acquired catalogs and rely on BMG as a service provider.<\/p>\n<p>For one, it will likely be music to the ears of the company&#8217;s new financial partner KKR, with whom BMG<a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/a-new-music-acquisition-juggernaut-is-born-as-bmg-and-kkr-strike-deal-to-jointly-buy-copyrights\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> signed a deal<\/a> last month to jointly buy music copyrights.<\/p>\n<p>Hartwig Masuch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/bmg-and-kkr-are-ready-to-spend-1bn-on-music-copyrights-and-thats-just-for-starters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told MBW<\/a> last month that BMG&#8217;s &#8220;fairness agenda&#8230;
